This year, I finally made the plan to go to Gregory’s bald after my friends had told me about it more than thousand times. It was hard climb up to the bald, but the reward was indescribable! I had to share what I saw with everyone so you know what I am talking about.
グレゴリーズボルドはスモーキーマウンテンズの一つの山の頂上がちょっとはげた（bald)所で、フレームアザリアという花が綺麗なことで有名です。友達からさんざんその話をを聞かされていたので今年こそは！と言うことで、行ってきました。山道は石や木の根っこなどで歩きにくく、急な登りで髪の毛まで汗をかくぐらいでしたが、頂上の花を見るとそんなことは一瞬のうちに忘れてしまうほど感動的な景色でした。
Trail head is in Cades Cove
上り口はケーツコーブという国立公園の中にあります。
4.9 miles of hard climb!
7.84キロのきつい上がりらしい。
When you go up from Gregory’s bald trail, you have to pass several creeks on the way. I spotted a cute salamander! He didn't have any problems to pose for me!
山を登る途中、何個かの小川を渡ります。橋の下を見ているとサンショウウオ！うまく写真が撮れるまでポーズしてくれました。

霧で山が覆われて煙たいように見えるのでスモーキーマウンテンと呼ばれます。
After 2 hours of climbing up, I started to see Azaleas! but is this what they are talking about??? It's sure beautiful but is this it???
二時間後ちらほらとアザリアの木が出てきました。 これのこと？ これだけ～？
ちょっと心配していたら奥に大きなピンクの花の群れが！
I see something pink ahead of me! And then the trail opens up to the bald.
YAY! and WOW!
いぇ～い！このことだ～! ピンクやオレンジがいろんな所に！

Took the Parson Branch Road back. Horses are allowed on this side of the trail to the bald.
帰りはパーソンブランチロードを使って、こちらは(自分の)馬であがってきてもOK
Rhododendron were blooming too!
アメリカの石楠花(左)も満開でした。
I love wild flowers! There are still some blooming!
野草が大好きな私。
my favorite is Winter Green; the picture on the left.
大好きな野草もまだ少し咲いていました。
Total 14 miles. It was hard, but I would remember this trip for ever! I am so glad I did it!
Azalea season is close to the end. So, mark your calendar for the next year. The peak is usually in 3rd week of June, but call visiter center just in case. They bloomed early this year.
約22．4キロ歩きました。大変だったけど一生の思い出になるハイキングでした。テネシーにこの時期来られる方は是非登ってください！
