These are my beautiful findings of East Tennessee. Wild flowers were introduced to me for the first time this year, and I got hooked! Everytime I got chance, I went to find the little beauties. I hope you enjoy them!
イーストテネシーは野生の花の宝庫です。友達に勧められ行ったハイキングがきっかけで今では休みがあれば野草を探しに出かけるぐらい大好きな趣味です。今年は今までになく綺麗でいろいろな種類を探すことができました。楽しんでください！

Blueberry Farm
Someone just told me that my favorite blueberry farm is open for the season. YES! Because of the dry weather, the farm didn’t open last year. So, I had been READY for this day for two years! Next day after work, I drove up myself to the blueberry farm with my new pair of rain boots I bought last year. (I get bitten by mosquitoes and other bugs all the time… so I have to cover up)
友達が｢ブルーベリーファームが開いてたで～｣と、2週間前ほどに教えてくれました。去年は気候の変化と水不足で木が枯れてしまいブルーベリー狩りができなかったので、張り切ってＪ－ｃｒｅｗで去年購入した長靴を、虫と蛇予防として履いて、次の日に仕事の後、行ってきました。

I was a little frustrated seeing many people picking even the ones that are not ready… Please just pick ones that are ready. They should look very dark; almost like black. You pick, you eat them all! Don’t you agree? I hate people who waste food!

Secret city Festiva
Secret city festival is done every year in Oak Ridge where atomic bomb was made. I knew about this festival, but this is the first time I visited it. Half of the park was filled with military equipments, and people who are dressed like the time of war to show how the military life was like. It was educational and very interesting to see those antique guns and tools.
シークレットシティーフェスティバルは毎年原爆が作られた町オークリッジで開かれます。戦時中はオークリッジの研究所で多くの人が働いていました。今でもいろいろの国から研究者たちがやってきて特秘で何か研究しています。このフェスチバルは戦争時代のアメリカを再現し子供たちにそれを教える場です。公園の半分は現役の兵隊さんと専門で軍の歴史を伝える元兵隊さんがその時代の制服を身に着けテントを張ったり軍の自動車や兵器を展示をしています。その日は2度か3度ほど戦い風景の再現がされます。銃の音や大きな大砲のような音が町中に響いていました。
City of Oak Ridge has a bell that was sent from Japan to symbolize peace between 2 countries. The bell was made in Kyoto which is next to my home town!
平和を願うため京都から送られた鐘。何億円とかかったらしい。反対した人もいるらしいが今は公園の中央につれされている
All age group can enjoy this festival. Parking is a little pain, but the shuttles are running from near by businesses. The lavender fest that I posted before is always in the same day, so you have to get up early and prepare to stay out all day if you want to do both!
お年寄りから子供まで楽しめるお祭りです。パーキングは難しいですが、その日はシャトルバスが近くのいろいろなお店から出ています。前のブログのラベンダーフェスティバルといつも同じ日なので、朝早く起きて両方是非楽しんでください！

Other half of the park is like a fair. There are tons of things kids can do! Also, there are antique tents and craft tents all over for adults
公園の後の半分は子供用の遊び場や骨董市、手作り商品、そして食べ物の屋台が並んでいます。小さな子供さんが1日中楽しめるようなフェスティバルです。

Lavender Festival & Farmer's Market in Jackson Square
Lavender Festival is a major event in small town called OakRidge in Tennessee. I love festivals, so I had to check it out!
I didn't have any problems finding a parking.

昔はこの紫のリボンで編まれたラベンダーを匂いながら臭い道など歩いたらしい。時代、場所は不明。
今はたんすやカバンに入れておくらしい。

Gregory Bald - Great Smoky Mountains
This year, I finally made the plan to go to Gregory’s bald after my friends had told me about it more than thousand times. It was hard climb up to the bald, but the reward was indescribable! I had to share what I saw with everyone so you know what I am talking about.
グレゴリーズボルドはスモーキーマウンテンズの一つの山の頂上がちょっとはげた（bald)所で、フレームアザリアという花が綺麗なことで有名です。友達からさんざんその話をを聞かされていたので今年こそは！と言うことで、行ってきました。山道は石や木の根っこなどで歩きにくく、急な登りで髪の毛まで汗をかくぐらいでしたが、頂上の花を見るとそんなことは一瞬のうちに忘れてしまうほど感動的な景色でした。

上り口はケーツコーブという国立公園の中にあります。
4.9 miles of hard climb!
7.84キロのきつい上がりらしい。
When you go up from Gregory’s bald trail, you have to pass several creeks on the way. I spotted a cute salamander! He didn't have any problems to pose for me!
山を登る途中、何個かの小川を渡ります。橋の下を見ているとサンショウウオ！うまく写真が撮れるまでポーズしてくれました。

After 2 hours of climbing up, I started to see Azaleas! but is this what they are talking about??? It's sure beautiful but is this it???
二時間後ちらほらとアザリアの木が出てきました。 これのこと？ これだけ～？
ちょっと心配していたら奥に大きなピンクの花の群れが！
I see something pink ahead of me! And then the trail opens up to the bald.
YAY! and WOW!
いぇ～い！このことだ～! ピンクやオレンジがいろんな所に！
