Beautiful Time in Tennessee!
April!!! It’s April in Tennessee!!! There are so many places to go!!!
If you haven’t noticed, I am a wildflower freak! I go anywhere where wildflowers are! Here are places to go RIGHT NOW!
あ゛～! テネシーの春～! 行くところがいっぱい～!!! でも私は野草バカなので野草のあるところへなら雨でも雪でも行きます。でも今一番綺麗なところは?!
Smoky mountain (of course!)
Everywhere in the Smoky is beautiful now. If you are not active person, you can still do motor trails. I recently did Roaring Fork Road Motor Nature Trail. It starts from traffic number 8 at Gatlinberg and end at US HYW 321 which is near Greenbrier. Yes. It is one way trail/street. So what I did was, after the motor trail, I went to Greenbrier to see more wildflowers. You can EASILY spend a day doing that. Both have GREAT wildflowers and historical places to see. Below are some pictures from those areas.

どこもかしこも綺麗です。あんまり歩くのが苦手の人も車でドライブできるトレイルもあります。今週 Roaring Fork Road Motor Nature Trailと言うのに行ってきました。ギャトリンバーグの８番目信号から始まりUS HYW 321で終わる一方通行の道です。ゆっくり窓を開けて運転しないと小さい野草は見えません。でも古い民家や滝など通るので車を止めてちょっと歩くところが何ヶ所もあって全部止まると結構時間がかかります。帰りはGreenbrierと言う国立の公園に近いのでその中のトレイルに花を見に行きました。下の花はそのトレイルとグレーンブライアーのハイキングで撮った写真です。
Another nice drive RIGHT NOW (til end of April) is the along with Little River between Sugarland visitor center and Cades Cove. You do have to drive slowly, but if you pay attention, you will find beautiful flowers. Especially near the Y intersection, there are columbines all over!!! I found my first bleeding hearts on this road too!
もう１箇所花のきれいな車道はシュガーランドの観光案内所とケーツコーブの間にあるリトルリバー沿いの道です。特にＹ字の交差点の近くはコロンバインがいっぱい咲いています。私の大好きなbleeding heartもここで初めて見つけなした。
If you are wildflowers freak like me, you will love my back yard! River Bluff Trail in Norris, TN. You have to remember that they have ranger guided wildflower tours every year around the end of March and the beginning of April. (always check the web site) This is how I started my wildflower adventure. The trail is 3.2 miles and half of it is the wildflowers. There are bulks of flowers in first half of the trail. Can’t compare with anywhere else! Starting from end of march, different flowers bloom all the time!!! Now is poppies and phacelias. Check it out!!! (The last half is very hilly. You will get good exercise )
私みたいに花好きの人はノーリスにあるRiver Bluff Trailが超お勧め! 毎年野草を見るハイキングのイベントが３月の後半か４月の前半にある。いろんな花をたくさん見たい人はだんぜんここ!!! 夏が始まるまでいろいろ違う花がいっぱい咲きます。去年このハイキングに参加したのが私の野草好きの始まり。3.2マイルで最初の1.5マイルが野草。残りは結構きつい坂なので運動にグ～。
Frozen Head State Park is another one! I am going to go find a lady’s slipper’s in May. Their annual “Wildflower Pilgrimage” event was this and past weekend. You can still see flowers through spring to summer. I have not completed any of their trails, but I saw several different and unique flowers on panther branch trail.
フローズンヘッドも結構いいところ。ここもいろいろな野草花が春から夏にかけて咲いている。ちょうど今週と先週が毎年こうれいの“Wildflower Pilgrimage”があったところ。ここはイベントに参加しただけでハイキングのコースは全部回ったことがないのです。panther branch trailに珍しい花が咲いていました。
Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area
I know if I go there, I can see bunch of Virginia blue bells (flower). I missed their annual wildflower hike… it is very sad because I Love the ranger! His name is Howard Duncan and he is very knowledgeable. Another special event is coming up next weekend. I don’t know the detail, but I am sure you can call and get info. By the way, if you have a horse, you can ride there, too. (I love to do that!!!!! but I don’t have a horse)

昨日ヤフーのマップを頼りに行ったら変な道に着いたので気を付けて。ＴＮ２９７にずっと続いていけば公園の入り口が見える。ここに行くとバージニアブルーベルが見れる。ここの年に一回の野草のハイキングも今週末であいにく仕事の関係でミスった。来週も野草じゃないけど公園でイベントがあるらしくラマ(動物)など来るらしい。興味のある人は電話して聞いてみてください。
