Yee Haw - one of my favorite shop

In Knoxville, all the galleries in down town area keep the doors open late on the first Friday of the month. I usually go because you can not only see new interesting art works but also get free food and drinks!

ノックスビル、ダウンタウンの美術館･ギャラリーは毎月第一金曜日だけ夜遅くまで開けています。周りのお店もそれに合わせて夜遅くまで開いていて、お店やギャラリーによると食べ物やワインなどただで置いています。だから私は毎月欠かさず行きます。

This Friday, my favorite store in downtown, “Yee Haw” was doing open house and sale, so I HAD to go.

今月は私の大好きなプリント(ポスターなどをデザインし作る所)ショップ　“イーハー”が、オープンハウスとセールをしていたので行ってきました。

You can buy their post cards, calendars, t-shirts and their posters. I think they are CUTE!

カードやカレンダー、Ｔシャツやポスターなど買える。デザインがなかなかかわいい!



They don’t open inside usually, but they did this day. I was so excited to see inside!

普通は見れない中のほうも今日はオープンしていました。



They get orders from all over the US, even around the world!

アメリカ中、世界中から注文が来るらしい。

These T-shirts are from Yee Haw. If you live in Knoxville, I am sure you have seen one. I have new Obama shirt, too. I just thought that was cute.

このお店で買ったＴシャツ。ノックスビルに住んでいたら一度は見たことがあるでしょう。　つい最近買ったオバマＴシャツも。かわいいと思っただけで別に応援しているわけではない。

Knoxville’s Farmer’s Market

Knoxville’s Farmer’s Market is held at Market Square in Downtown Knoxville every Wednesdays (11 am to 2 pm) and Saturdays (9 am to 2 pm). Try to be there as early as you can so you have more choices. I heard some things sell out in first 1~2 hours!

ノックスビルのファーマーズマーケットは毎週水曜日(11時から２時まで)と土曜日(９時から２時まで)マーケットスクエアーで開かれています。だんだんと人気が広まっていて、最初の１～２時間で売り切れになる商品などもあるようです。



There are bunch of FRESH and unusual vegetables, eggs, meat, herbs, flowers, and baked goods. It makes me feel good to eat fresh local food!

新鮮でちょっと変わった野菜、卵、お肉(冷凍)、ハーブ、お花、パンやお菓子などでいっぱい!　土地の新鮮なものを食べるのって気分が良くなる気がする。

My personal favorite “VG’s” I love his biscuits and corn bread. It is heavenly… but I know it is packed with tons of calories… He bakes DELICIOUS sweets too!

私の好きな“ビージー”というパン屋さん。個人的にはこの土地ならではの食べ物ビスケットとコーンブレッドが大好き。普通のパンよりバターを多く入れるビスケットは一個で1日のカロリーが摂れるのではないかというぐらいカロリーが高い。その分おいしい!



She is always there / 彼女はいつもいる





I discovered that fresher garlic taste MUCH better. I can’t buy regular garlic from the store any more. You should try too.

にんにくは新鮮なのがやっぱりおいしい。もう普通のお店では買えない!　大きいので75セント。安い









SO MANY tomatoes… They look so beautiful!
トマトはいろんな種類がある。見た目もカラフルで面白いのがある。




I don’t know some of the vegetables. It looks interesting.
たまにどういう風に食べたらよいかわからない野菜がある





They have some crafts too. There was a study in Japan showed that hand made broom does much better work than plastic ones.

手作り商品も売っている。アメリカでもほうきを作る人がまだいるが、ほうきを使うアメリカ人はもういないと思う。日本なら売れるかも…　でも頑張れ!

It must be an election season…
選挙の時期です。記念にＴシャツ買ってしまった。





Whole family can enjoy the market! Some of the restaurants offer great breakfast or brunches in the square. You should be able to spend most day just being there. Market is open until November 22nd, 2008 this year.

家族ぐるみで楽しめるマーケットです。周りのレストランもおいしい朝食やブランチなどを出しているところもあって半日は楽しく過ごせます。今年は11月22日までオープンらしい。
